Bin Khamis is a historic mosque located near Bait Dickson and beneath the Central Bank of Kuwait. It was originally built in 1772 and renovated in 2009. The photographs below date to 1979 and come from Tareq Rajab’s work Glimpses of Kuwait. The first is titled in the book, “the entrance to Bin Khamis mosque between the two warehouses facing the sea.” The second is titled, “two warehouses with the entrance to Bin Khamis mosque squeezed between them–the minaret is visible behind. The mosque also has a side entrance.”

Below you can see some older photographs of the mosque from this flickr, Kuwait: Arts and Architecture, A Collection of Essays, and a book of old photographs published by the Center for Research and Studies on Kuwait.
