Al Muthanna is located along Fahad al Salem street and was built between 1979 and 1985. Today, the shops are largely empty (although there are some great antique stores), but it makes for an interesting place to walk around.

The complex was built atop an old school, which you can see on the right of these photos from 1966. You can see more photographs of the school at the end of this post.
