Visiting Failaka Island

Failaka Island has a history stretching back 4,000 years. Today, the island is largely abandoned buildings, many with visible scars from the invasion. Mohammed Alkouh has a great project “Failaka is a Beautiful Island” where you can see many of these buildings. Ikarus offers a couple different options to reach Failaka, including a more expensive ferry on which you can take a car and a cheaper fast boat. Dr. Hasan Ashkanani organizes group tours to visit the island, which he posts through instagram stories. Below are some of the pictures I have taken when visiting the island.
